2024 Scholarship Recipients

 

Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union, alongside The Partin Foundation, Miller family, and Dickey family, extends heartfelt congratulations to all our 2024 scholarship recipients! This year, we proudly awarded over $18,500 in scholarships to twelve remarkable high school seniors.

These scholarships represent more than just financial assistance; they symbolize dedication, resilience, and a commitment to excellence. We are honored to recognize the following deserving recipients!


The Cy-Fair FCU Community Scholarships ($1,500 each)

Graduating high school seniors in Harris or Waller County were eligible for consideration. Those chosen as recipients display qualities of leadership and commitment to the community.

The Cy-Fair FCU Bilingual Spanish Scholarship ($1,500)

Open to bi-lingual (Spanish & English) graduating high school seniors in Harris and Waller Counties who completed the ESL (English as a Second Language) or NAC (New Arrival Center) program. Recipients are selected based on their resilience and success in school, as well as in the community.

The Cy-Fair FCU Membership Scholarship ($1,500)

This scholarship was open to any graduating high school senior who is a member of Cy-Fair FCU, or has an immediate family member with an account at the credit union.  Applicants are assessed based on several factors, including their efforts within their school and community.

The Prairie View FCU Scholarship ($1,500)

Open to graduating high school seniors in Harris County, CFISD or Waller ISD planning to attend Prairie View A&M University. This scholarship honors the historic founding of Prairie View FCU in March 1937, originally chartered to serve employees of Prairie View State College, which is now Prairie View A&M University.

The Full-Year Lone Store College Scholarship in Memory of Pattie R. Miller from Cy-Fair FCU ($3500)

Open to high school graduating seniors in Harris and Waller Counties who plan to attend Lone Star College. This scholarship was created to honor the memory of Pattie R. Miller, a beloved member of the Cy-Fair FCU staff and community. The recipient is selected based on a demonstration of hard work and positive contributions.  The Miller family graciously included additional funds to assist the recipient with other expenses related to furthering their education.

Kimberly A. Dickey Memorial Scholarship ($2,000)

This scholarship was created by the Dickey family to commemorate the life of a beloved mother, wife and friend.  Because Kimberly was an accomplished artist and renowned by friends and family for her many creative projects, as well as the beneficiary of many kind, knowledgeable medical professionals, consideration for this scholarship was given to any graduating high school senior planning to pursue either a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree or a Bachelors in a Healthcare field.

The Partin Foundation’s Bob Partin Integrity Scholarship ($1,000)

This scholarship was created to honor Bob Partin, who continues to embody true honor and integrity. The recipient is selected based on how honor and integrity have defined their life choices and actions.

The Partin Foundation’s Paulette Partin Entrepreneurial Spirit Scholarship ($1,000)

The Paulette Partin Scholarship is intended for encouraging and supporting females to advance their entrepreneurial spirit.

The Partin Foundation’s Charles Galloway Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

This scholarship honors Corporal Charles Galloway, a model of selflessness who made sacrifices to mentor and serve those in his community. For consideration, applicants must demonstrate an understanding of selflessness in action through how they have placed others before themselves.

The Partin Foundation’s Deputy Darren GoForth Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

This scholarship commemorates Deputy Darren Goforth’s dedication to his community, as he served with great integrity and courage in the face of adversity. Applicants were considered based on challenges they faced in their life and how they overcame those while maintaining integrity and courage through the experience.
